This has to be the worst unsanitary daycare I have ever seen. It is so cramped. The owner knows nothing about children, and is really weird. Voices talk to her. Scary huh??? I would never leave my children there in her care. We need good quality childcare. Do not like the outside features fool you. The preschool program is a joke, all they do is color!!!! They can get that at home!!!!!

The MHFC has excellent leadership since its reorganization. I am impressed everyday with the professionalism exhibited by the director and the Board members. I like that the Board members are involved and taking an interest in the children as well as the center. The teachers are loving and respectful. Most of all, I see a huge difference in the atmosphere since Jesus has been included in the curriculum, something which the new leadership has implemented. Good Show!

I give this review only as a service to parents looking for quality childcare. As a former employee, I can assure you this center is bad news. I have seen many other centers and I have worked in centers that were fully-compliant, helping to achieve that rating myself. In the time that I was employed at Active Little Exlporers, I was often not compliant with state ratios, was forced to supervise children who were not disciplined for extreme violence and I was not encouraged or aided in improving the center. In the entire period of my employment, I did not see ANY toys or equipment cleaned in the state-mandated way. The classrooms were also disorganized and often unsafe. There were many children who should have been asked to leave the center because of their continued violence against other children and teachers but were not because the center needed the money. I also agree that the owner's children were out of control. During mealtimes they would scream and argue until they were given what they wanted, cereal for lunch for example, while the other children were not given such choices. I know of many terrific centers and I encourage any parent looking for a prospective childcare center to check out the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services website for inspection results. I also recommend that before enrolling children in ANY center, parents should take their children for an observation in the classroom where they can interact with the teachers and the other children. This is your absolute right as a parent and any reputable childcare center will be thrilled to accomodate you.

Most child care centers are operated in high regards to the regulations put forth my local city, county, and state rules. However some facilities have been found negligent in the past. When evaluating a child care center ask quesions about the age of infants and children accepted, drop in childcare policies, and what childcare solutions are available in your price range. Childcare forms often ask questions about vouchers, tax credits and household income to determine what the rates and overall costs to you are. Childcare workers are ofen certified and highly qualified and licensed to provide assistance to any situation you might need.
