This center is well kept, toys are appropriate, care staff is friendly. The owner and the business is continuously getting harrassed and being reviewed by the same person using different names just to make them look bad. The only truth that I see to the criticism is that the two week deposits will not be refunded. Otherwise, I saw no problems with the care.

Little Scholars is a diamond in the ruff. An urban childcare center located in the business distrist of the Rosedale Park Communiy, this gem stands out. Very professional, seeking a Naeyc accredidation, delivering top notch childcare service, I would recommend this center to parents that want to be partners with his or her child's teacher and center. Some drawbacks to the center: no onsite playground, undefined Director (not sure who the Director is) I have spoken to Ms. Denita Parrish and Ms. Woods, both dedicated to the field of early childhood. Teaching staff appears to be kind and thoughtful. One visit to the center caught the staff out of ratio and the main classroom seemed to be unorganized, but the children were happy and smiling and the overall envirnment felt like "organized chaos". Hope this helps in your selection of a West Detroit Childcare Center.

Decent School. Rude Management.

My daughter attends Real Life Nursery. She loves her teacher, however I was taken aback by the directors (especially ******* ******). Per usual, they are sugar sweet when showing me the school before I decided whether we’d enroll. I say "per usual" because I've seen this with the other preschool my daughter attended. Once enrolled and paying, they barely make eye contact with you and today I was approached by **** **** (assistant *******) with "Hey, do you know you are a week late with tuition?" No first name, and rudely addressed in front of other people. Apparently my check I payed two weeks earlier (my daughter attends two day/week) was mostly just a deposit, which was also not explained to me. I apologized and said I'd bring in check when I came to pick up my daughter. Meanwhile, I had promised my daughter (as I always do now) to go to her window and blow her a kiss goodbye...this in exchange for her to be a "big girl" and not cry when I leave, which she often does. I was so embarrassed/offended on my way out that I forgot to go to her window. Talk about breaking my heart (and my daughter's) as I drove home remembering I'd forgotten the blown kiss!
I had my daughter at Goodison in Rochester for a couple of years and the staff was wonderful. Caring and personable toward the children AND parents, so I’m not naive about how a great preschool should be run. It's a shame once the management has "reeled you in with tuition checks" they choose to be uncaring and insincere-- very unprofessional. I’ll keep her here because her daily involvement is really with her teacher (Ms. Bethany, a real sweetheart) and teacher assistants, who are the opposite of the ********, warm and caring.

I have two kids and both went there since they were one year old, this was the best thing which could have happened to us!!!!!!
Very clean, very loving place. For children that age all they need is a place they look forward going to and this place... is where my 6 year olds and 4 year old still LOOK FORWARD to go to!!!!
Fresh Food, Lots of sunlight warmth and great curriculum, my kids even know the Indian National Anthem... I am the luckiest person to have found this place.

Our daughter has been going to Eastminster for three years and has developed so much in her motor skills, mentally, and emotionally. The staff does a great job of putting kids and their learning experiences first.

We sadly moved on to school but would take our other children there in the future.

Owner very unprofessional in dealing with problems. Acts as if she is doing you an awesome service by letting you have your child attend when it is a something you pay her to provide and agree to all stated in the student handbook.

I have been taking my 2 children to this daycare since it opened...not only is this center a place where your children are cared for and watched over, they also follow a ciriculum which has helped my oldest child excell in school...from what i have heard there is many more children that have also excelled above average in school from attending this center...price seems to follow all childcare in surrounding areas...carpets dont seem filthy to me...my child was hungry at pick up time too (because it was supper time anyway duh!!!)...yes they can use the term "teacher" The word Teacher is used to refer to any adult responsible for a group of children in any early childhood program, including infant/toddler caregivers, family child care providers, and specialists in other disciplines who fulfill the role of teacher... from what i understand the "teachers" at this center have monthly trainings, and most have degrees in Early Childhood Education.

Most child care centers are operated in high regards to the regulations put forth my local city, county, and state rules. However some facilities have been found negligent in the past. When evaluating a child care center ask quesions about the age of infants and children accepted, drop in childcare policies, and what childcare solutions are available in your price range. Childcare forms often ask questions about vouchers, tax credits and household income to determine what the rates and overall costs to you are. Childcare workers are ofen certified and highly qualified and licensed to provide assistance to any situation you might need.
