best daycare

My son was in this daycare from age 7 thru age 12. He received excellent, compassionate care. I never had any questions as to the quality of the care given. As a registered nurse, I think I would know if someone was not providing good care to my child. I had to remove him from a daycare because he was assaulted by another child several times and that daycare did not remove the child from their daycare despite it being in their regulations, so to keep my child safe, I took him out of the daycare. Lisa and Edgerton Learning Center gave excellent care, they did art projects, played outside and I never questioned the quality of care. There are times when a child should be removed to protect the other children, my son experienced being repeatedly punched in the face, hit with drumsticks in his back hard enough to cause bruising and hematomas at the site. My son was diagnosed with ADHD in third grade, Lisa knew how to care for him and provide for his special needs. She was able to let me know when she saw side effects from medications being used, etc. I would recommend this daycare to ANYONE. I could go to work and not worry about my child being injured by another child. She was also very flexible in the times of my work schedule. Being a nurse, I needed to work later some days of the week, it was never a problem for Lisa, you don't get that with other daycares. If I had another child, they would be at Edgerton Learning Center right now.

OMG.....

Okay people relax.....!! I wrote a REVIEW of my experience with this business. That's what this site is for!!! Not for going on and on about how "bad" my baby is or **** ****'s thought to have her placed in "special needs" (talk about slander!) I knew the transition to daycare was not going to be easy for my daughter and that fact was discussed with this provider. I was told that it would take time and cooperation between the provider and myself... I took instruction and "yes" was given a crib with the intent on her getting better sleep at night, which she climbed out of right away(which is why I got rid of her original crib to begin with) Said provider didn't want it back!!
I was told that my daughter was "still getting used to daycare", but NOT told that she was subposedly "unruly", "abusive" and screaming constantly. That breaks my heart. I don't doubt that other children and parents' love this place. It's a very nice home environment with lots of things to do. My daughter just didn't fit in there. She's doing great where she goes part-time now and they absolutely love her.
Lastly.. I suggest that the horrible things being said about my 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, STOP NOW.... my goodness....you're supposed to be "Christian Women" No wonder I'm not! I would think that your lord and savior would be very disappointed..... good riddens

The disgruntled customer below (Sara)neglected to say that she had been given a crib worth $150.00. Also the owner of the daycare tried refunding her $40.00 twice but couldn't locate her.

Seriously?

I find it appaling and extremely slanderous and libelous that grown folks have nothing better to do with their time than try and ruin the good name of a good woman. My child has had nothing but good experiences at this daycare and so have I. They teach the children many things and are not too fat to care for them. I hope sensible adults can see through some of the comments on here are ridiculous and childish. My mother taught me not to slander people and especially not to put it in writing. In fact if it was me and this type of bullying was happening, I would contact an attorney for slander and libel. It is not okay to drage someone's name through the mud over a disagreement. If you are going to stand behind your statements I suggest you post your name and not hide behind one letter. Just because there is freedom of speech in the United States does not mean you are allowed to say awful, untrue things about someone in attempts to ruin their business. This is a Christian daycare and in the Bible it states you should not "Bear false witness against thy neighbor" or "judge the Righteous". Just because you had a bad experience, and I met your daughter she was extremely unruly, very tempermental, and would scream in my daughters ears to the point she didn't want to go near the child. Your child may do better in a special needs facility anyway, and that is my opinion, solely. I hope other parents reading these awful comments can realize this is one family who is disgruntled. The owner even gave this woman a brand new crib without asking for anything in return. This is the thanks she gets for being kind and compassionate? We've all met children who are wild and unruly, this woman is supposed to put up with a child and mother like this? Personally, I am glad that child is gone and I hope the owner does take legal action if this woman continues to slander her. This daycare is a good place to take your children, my daughter wouldn't still be there if it wasn't the case. I trust them implicitly with my daughter.

My granddaughter was in this day care. She had never been in day care
before. She was not unruly. The woman was to big to move around to
take care of anyone. And the mother was never reimbursed for the money she had given her. I would truly go there when not expected and really see whats going on. Thank you
Grammy of the supposed unruly child
She was just two and her mom has done a great job at bringing this child up!!!!!

Very good Christian day care

Edgerton Learning Center is a very good place to take your kids. My daughter loves going there and comes back singing songs with a smile on her face. There is a good program they use to teach the children and are very capable of handling intense situations. I am very satisfied and my daughter will continue to go there.

"active"?
by Anonymous on June 23rd, 2009

A child who constantly screams and physically attacks other daycare children is not simply "active." In fact, Sara Sweet's child made daycare so unpleasant for the other children that they started to dislike coming to daycare because of her child's incessant screaming and poor behavior. I would not expect much parenting skills from a woman who insults toddlers and other "daycare" kids by calling them "droned out" and "without character". Obviously she hasn't taught her daughter how to act or listen to directions.
If your child is at least remotely well-behaved and does not exhibit anti-social behavior, there is nothing wrong with choosing Edgerton Learning Center.

I am an Edgerton Learning Center employee. This is a Christian day care with very active children. We currently have three 2 year old children. The above child was very unruly and this negatively affected the other children. Therefore our services had to be discontinued. The child's mother is being reimbursed for any paid days that were missed. In addition, we are in complete compliance with State rules and regulations.

Best Home Daycare
by Cathy Pauwels on June 23rd, 2009

This is the best daycare that I have seen in a long time. This comment on here is so off. My son started at this daycare 18 months old. HE HAS LEARN SO MUCH BEING HERE!!!
This woman does her job. The parents also have to work with the daycare then doing nonething.
Most daycare has a thing in the contract saying there is a one or two to see if it works both daycare and the woman that is taking care of your child. If it does not then you are let go.
This lady making a comment saying it is unheard is total wrong.
If you come cross this then look at it because this is the BEST place child!!

Best Provider in the world

I have a child that has gone to this daycare since his been 18 months old and now his 4 and half. My child has learn so MUCH in the daycare. I would never take my child out.
Most place would make you pay when your child is out. My son broke his leg when he was 2 and half. This woman was great. She keep a spot for him to come back. Never ask for money to keep his spot because the woman at this daycare is a VERY LOVING PERSON!!
If you want someone to watch your child that knows what they are doing then call this daycare or call me because I have nothing but wonderful things to say.

Can't handle an active 2 year old?.
by Sara Sweet on May 10th, 2009

After only 6 nonconsecutive days of caring for my almost 2yr old daughter, whom has never been in daycare.... this woman with supposedly 25 yrs of experience told me to find somewhere else to take her! Complaining that she was only taking an hour and 15min. nap and 'diagnosing' my child as hyper active!
Umm, she's 2 !!
I also paid her in advance and still had 1 day paid off, that wasn't returned to me when picking up my daughters things. I was almost at a total loss for words at first, but after having talked to other parents, and finding out that this situation is unheard of, I am now livid! I could go on and on... So, unless your child is already a droned out daycare kid and has no character...this woman doesn't want to do her job, KEEP LOOKING!!!!

Most child care centers are operated in high regards to the regulations put forth my local city, county, and state rules. However some facilities have been found negligent in the past. When evaluating a child care center ask quesions about the age of infants and children accepted, drop in childcare policies, and what childcare solutions are available in your price range. Childcare forms often ask questions about vouchers, tax credits and household income to determine what the rates and overall costs to you are. Childcare workers are ofen certified and highly qualified and licensed to provide assistance to any situation you might need.
