*****  Proud Grandpa
by pappy1 on March 8th, 2010
I have had to pick up my grandson a few times the last few weeks, and I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff. The teachers always help gather his things, and he is always so happy when I get there. Its comforting as a grandpa to see my boy so happy, and after how well the staff takes care of me, I see why he loves it there.

All I can say is that when i visited 3 months ago, i only did because the price was so low. I didn't expect much. Not only after my tour did I sign my girls up, but I couldn't be happier with the level of care, and the personal service I get from the management there. The staff is on the ball, and I know I am not only getting the best price in the area, but the best quality too.

I have visited several centers in the area and by far Luella Academy has met all my expectations with a friendly staff. My children are doing so well and learning so much. The afterschool program is wonderful and a new approach the children change rooms to rotate to different activities instead of having all the children in one room.
Keep up the great work.

Don't know much about other centers, but I moved here from the north side of Atlanta, and wasn't expecting much.
My 2 daughters are learning so much that it makes me feel like they never did anything at their old center.
The owner, director, and the teachers are just amazing!!!!! I feel like they are all family

I have never seen a child care center such as this. The staff is very friendly and my children cant stop talking about how much they love going there. This past winter break the after schoolers completed some community care work such as can food drive for one of the local battered women and children centers and cleaned up two local parks.
The cirriculum at the center exceeds the state recommendation. My child has only been going there for a short while and has since learned more than she has in the past several months at the other center. I am so very satisfied.
*****  Sorry I made my daughter go

When you see a cheap price wonder why it is. My daughter came home from school one day and told me "the teacher hurt me" and showed me her arm. She had fingernail impressions and scratches. Those half moon fingernail marks were on her arm for 4 days! That does not happen in an accident. That lady dug her nails into my baby. She had been telling me for weeks that this teacher was mean and running out of her class. If she had told me she was being pinched or pushed I would've reacted. But no kid wants to go to school so I overlooked it. Upon viewing the tapes I noticed other incidents such as a teacher sitting in an open doorway and continuously pushing my daughter out of the way instead of simply closing the door. No, she had to push her like children would do to each other. Close the doors!!! After I spoke with my daughter about her arm I began to ask her questions and she told me two of the teachers there were pinching her as punishment. This is a horrible center and after my kids had been to the new one (Discovery Point- AWSOME)for one month I realized just how much they were NOT learning at Luella Academy. Think hard and long before enrolling your child here.

Child Care Information

Most child care centers are operated in high regards to the regulations put forth my local city, county, and state rules. However some facilities have been found negligent in the past. When evaluating a child care center ask quesions about the age of infants and children accepted, drop in childcare policies, and what childcare solutions are available in your price range. Childcare forms often ask questions about vouchers, tax credits and household income to determine what the rates and overall costs to you are. Childcare workers are ofen certified and highly qualified and licensed to provide assistance to any situation you might need.
